Function & Responsibilities

  • Arrange the agenda, at the discretion of the California Association of Neonatologists (CAN) for the pre-meeting of the annual CAN meeting.
  • Develop a communication infrastructure that supports the dissemination of quality improvement materials through internet technologies, written publications, outreach, and oral presentations at relevant venues (such as those created by the March of Dimes, Mid -Coastal California Perinatal Outreach Program, Perinatal Advisory Council: Leadership, Advocacy, and Consultation (PAC-LAC) annual Quality of Life for Families Symposium, regional and local meetings for health professionals, etc.)
  • Provide access to a cadre of clinical decision making and training aids (lecture notes, syllabuses, slides and computer-based training aids). Evaluation aids (e.g. competency tests, observation protocols and quality-monitoring tools)

2015 Committee Goals

  • Establish uniform bibliography format for future and updated Toolkits
  • Develop resource page on the CPQCC website that supports access to generic quality improvement materials including but not limited to, written publications, outreach, and video presentations.
  • Plan 2016 Pre-CAN day (includes identifying topics, constructing agenda, and confirming speakers)
  • Conduct a formal needs assessment for QI education in CPQCC NICUs
