Quality Improvement Projects

Our quality improvement (QI) projects are designed to help member NICUs improve specific areas of care using evidence-based practices. Using the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)’s collaborative QI model, CPQCC organizes large multi-site improvement projects, in which participating sites focus on improving practices relative to their own baseline data. We are currently exploring other more self-directed quality improvement offerings that we can offer to our sites in addition to the multi-site collaboratives.

Participating sites benefit from:

  • Access to evidence-based change packages
  • The opportunity to benchmark, track and compare data between their site and other participating sites
  • Participation in a “community of learning” where lessons learned, materials, data, and strategy are shared across sites
  • Guidance in both quality improvement and the clinical area of focus from a multidisciplinary panel of experts from across the state
  • Credit towards the QI requirements of the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program.

Quality improvement projects are open to all CPQCC member hospitals.
