Courtney received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and her Master’s of Science in Nursing from University of California, San Francisco. At USCF, Courtney’s focus was Nursing Informatics. Courtney’s nursing career began at Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL, in the NICU as a staff nurse and as the Clinical Educator. She relocated to the Bay Area and started work in quality improvement at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Her interest broadened outside of the NICU as she worked in the role of Medical Staff Quality Manager. She came to CPQCC in 2000 as a graduate student interested in neonatal quality improvement. Courtney manages all aspects of the quality improvement arm of CPQCC. She coordinates PQIP activities, CPQCC collaboratives and educational conferences/web conferences. Her publication topics include delivery room management, breastmilk nutrition and quality improvement. She enjoys interacting with CPQCC sites throughout her collaborative work and appreciates the opportunity to work alongside her PQIP colleagues in improving neonatal care throughout the State of California.
